Sedan Hits Motorcyclist On I-87, Leaves Scene

The State Police are asking anyone who may have information about the hit-and-run to call them.

GREENBURGH, NY — A hit-and-run crash Saturday in the town of Greenburgh has prompted law enforcement to ask the public for information about it.

The New York State Police said the crash happened around 9:40 p.m. Saturday on the southbound Interstate 87 in Greenburgh.

Police said the operator of motorcycle was stopped on the right shoulder of the Exit 7A off-ramp when a dark-colored sedan struck the motorcycle, causing the operate to be ejected and land in the roadway.

The sedan fled from the scene, authorities said.

Two drivers passing by stopped to pull the motorcyclist to safety and rendered first aid.

He was taken to the hospital where he is being treated for serious leg injuries, police said.

The investigation remains ongoing.

State police are asking anyone who witnessed the crash or has information about the vehicle that fled the scene to call SP Tarrytown at 914-332-6700 or the Thruway Operation Center at 1-866-833-2980.
