Warwick Police Officer Injured In Crash With Tractor Trailer

The officer had to be extricated from the police vehicle and was taken by helicopter to the hospital.

WARWICK, NY — A tractor-trailer struck a town of Warwick police vehicle injuring an on-duty officer Tuesday.

The New York State Police said the collision happened shortly before 10 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Route 94 and Warwick Turnpike.

Police said a 2011 Freightliner tractor-trailer, driven by Mouhamadou Diallo, 50, of Brooklyn, was traveling northwest on Warwick Turnpike when he struck a 2019 Ford Explorer Town of Warwick Police Department vehicle that was going southwest on Route 94.

The tractor-trailer proceeded through the intersection and struck a telephone pole.

Officer Jordan Tetreault, who was driving the police vehicle, had to be extricated. She was transported to Westchester Medical Center by helicopter.

Police said Tetreault suffered full-body injuries and is currently in stable condition.

Diallo was taken to Garnet Health Medical Center by emergency medical services with minor injuries.

The State Police Monroe is asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash or the vehicles prior to the crash to call the Monroe barracks at 845-782-8311 and reference SJS number 11512603.

Police said this is an ongoing investigation.
