Boy, 9, Dies After Goal Post Collapses On Him At NYC School: Police
The 9-year-old boy, an Upper West Side resident, was pronounced dead at Roosevelt Hospital.

HELL'S KITCHEN, NY — A 9-year-old boy has died after police say he was found suffering from severe head trauma at the Food and Finance High School in Hell's Kitchen Sunday morning. The injury was caused by a goal post that collapsed on the boy, an NYPD spokesperson confirmed to Patch.
Police responded to a call just after 10 a.m. at 525 W 50th Street for an injured male and found the boy with severe head trauma, unconscious and unresponsive at the location. He was taken to Roosevelt Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police sources told The New York Post it appeared that the boy was hanging onto the upright post of the goal, which splintered and hit him in the head. AM New York reported the boy was playing with his church group inside the building that houses the school.
