CA Woman Stabbed While Changing Baby At Macy's In Midtown
New York City police said the incident happened around 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.
MIDTOWN, NY — A California woman was stabbed while changing her 10-month-old baby in a restroom at Macy's Herald Square in Midtown, according to police and a report.
New York City police said the incident happened around 3:15 p.m. on Thursday at the store located at 151 W. 34 St. When police arrived, they found the 39-year-old woman suffering from multiple stab wounds to her back and a cut on her left arm.
According to an ABC7 report, the woman was changing her infant daughter in a seventh-floor restroom when she was stabbed from behind. The baby was not injured.

The report said the woman and her husband work for the sheriff's office in Jurupa Valley, California. He disarmed the woman and held her until police arrived.
The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital, where she was in stable condition, police said.

Police have arrested and charged 43-year-old Kerri Aherne of Tewksbury, Massachusetts, in connection with the incident. Authorities charged her with attempted murder, assault, criminal possession of a weapon and endangering the welfare of a child.
