Brazilian Day Festival NYC: Celebration, Road Closures

Here's what you need to know about Sunday's Brazilian Day festival in Midtown.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — Thousands of people are expected to attend a celebration of Brazilian culture in Midtown Manhattan on Sunday, Sept. 2 for the 33rd annual New York City Brazilian Day, the event's organizers announced.

Sunday's celebration is the world’s largest Brazilian festival outside of Brazil and is expected to draw attendees from around the world, organizers said. The festival will feature performances from popular Brazilian musicians such as MC Koringa, Dennis, Toni Garrido, Matheus e Kauam and Paralamas do Sucesso, organizers said on Facebook.

The festival is expected to start around 10 p.m. and end around 6 p.m. and will be held in an area called Little Brazil on 46th Street between Madison and Sixth Avenues. Brazilian Day events will also be held along Sixth Avenue from West 42nd to 56th Streets.
