MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — Southern fast food staple Chick-fil-A is opening its newest New York City location in Midtown Manhattan on Thursday, the company announced this week.

The new Chick-fil-A will located at 711 Lexington Ave., between East 57th and 58th streets, will open its doors at 6:30 a.m. Thursday — likely to a crowd of fans craving fried chicken for breakfast. The fast food giant's latest New York City location will be more than 14,000 square feet large, span four stories and can seat 118 customers, according to a company press release.

Mirroring many of the Chick-fil-A locations that have opened in the city since 2015, the Lexington Avenue restaurant will feature upstream ordering. Customers will place orders while waiting in line with the goal that orders are ready once they arrive at the counter.

The Lexington Avenue Chick-fil-A will be run by a franchise owner named Sam Megala and will employ about 150 team members. Megala was born in Egypt and has worked in the restaurant industry after moving to the United States to study engineering.

"My family and I have dreamt of opening a Chick-fil-A restarant in New York City for quite some time, Megala said in a statement. "My hope is for this restaurant to be a pillar in the community – a welcoming place where people can come together to share a meal and a memory."
