Second Cyclist In A Week Killed In Chelsea After Being Hit By Bus: NYPD
A second cyclist has died in Chelsea this week.

CHELSEA, NY — A male cyclist was killed in Chelsea when a charter bus making a right turn on West 29th street hit the man, the NYPD said.
Police responded to the area of West 29th Street and Seventh Avenue around 1:35 p.m. for the report of a bicyclist killed. The man, who was found lying on the ground with severe body trauma, was taken to Bellevue Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Both the cyclist and the charter bus were going southbound on the Seventh Avenue when the crash happened. The bus driver remained on the scene and the investigation is ongoing.

The cyclist was identified as Michael Mamoukakis, 81, of Chelsea.
On Tuesday, a man riding a Citi Bike in Chelsea was killed after he was hit by a bus, marking the ride share service's first fatality since its launch four years ago.
