Godiva To Open Company's First US Cafe In Midtown Manhattan
The Belgian chocolate company will serve up grab-and-go meals, coffee drinks and a waffle/croissant hybrid called The Croiffle.
MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — The Belgian chocolate company Godiva will open a new cafe in Midtown Manhattan this month as a kickoff to a larger expansion in the Northeast United States, company officials said in a statement.
Midtown's Godiva cafe will be located inside a building at Lexington Avenue and East 50th Street and is set to debut on April 18. The cafe's menu will feature a number of caffeinated beverages, grab-and-go meals and sweet pastries. Some unique items on Godiva's menu include the company's signature cold-blended Chocolixir drink and a waffle and croissant hyrbid called The Croiffle.
The Croiffle, likely an attempt to cash in on the popylarity of the Cronut, is made by pressing a freshly-made croissant into a waffle. The creation is then stuffed with ingredients such as eggs, cheese or, of course, chocolate.

The Midtown Manhattan cafe will be Godiva's first entry into opening an eatery in the United States, but it won't be the last. Godiva expects to open 10 more cafes in various Northeast cities by the end of 2019, according to a press release. The company currently operates retail stores around the country.
Godiva's Lexingon Avenue cafe will be open daily between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m., company officials said.
