Man Stabbed To Death Near Port Authority After Fight, Police Say

An argument in front of a high-end condo tower steps from Times Square led to a man being stabbed to death Tuesday, according to police.

HELL'S KITCHEN, NY — A man was stabbed to death on 42nd Street late Tuesday during a fight with another person, according to police.

The 24-year-old man was found with a stab wound to the torso around 11 p.m. Tuesday in front of the parking garage at 350 West 42nd St., at the base of the Orion condominium tower between Eighth and Ninth avenues, police said.

Police say the victim had been in an argument with another man, which escalated and led to the stabbing. The fight may have begun when one asked the other for a cigarette, according to the Daily News.

The man was rushed to NYC Health & Hospitals/Bellevue, where he was pronounced dead. His identity was not released, pending family notification.

Nobody has been arrested but an investigation is ongoing, police said.
