MIDTOWN, NY — Someone woke up a multimillionaire Wednesday morning in New York after hitting the Mega Millions jackpot.

A single ticket sold at Pronto Pizza on West 48th Street in Midtown matched all six numbers drawn Sept. 21 – the white balls 36, 41, 45, 51 and 56, plus the gold Mega Ball 13 – to win the estimated prize of $432 million ($315 million cash), according to the Mega Millions website.

The jackpot had been growing since it was last won in Illinois on June 8.

Pronto owner David Khirala, 55, told The New York Post that he's not sure who the lucky person is but said he had a lot of customers purchasing tickets before the big drawing.

“I hope [they are] one of my regular customers. They deserve it to win,” he told the newspaper. “I’m happy for this person. With the pandemic and everything, probably they need it."

The big win is New York’s second Mega Millions jackpot this year, following a $96 million prize won by an Oneida County couple on Feb. 16.

If you are among millions of other lotto buyers who didn't win, don't worry. There's another chance to win the big Powerball jackpot. The jackpot for the next drawing on Friday, Sept. 24, resets to its current starting value of $20 million, which is $14.5 million cash.
