Midtown Avenue Shut Down After Man Fatally Falls

Blocks of Lexington Avenue were shut down Monday morning after a 25-year-old man fell from a nearby building, police said.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — A stretch of Lexington Avenue in Midtown was shut down Monday morning after a man fell to his death, police said.

Lexington was shut down between East 34th and 31st streets shortly after 9 a.m., police announced, asking the public to avoid the area. Police said the avenue had been reopened just after 10 a.m.

The closure came shortly after a 25-year-old man was found in front of 150 East 32nd St., a 31-story building that includes NYU Langone medical clinics.

It was unclear whether the man had fallen or jumped, an NYPD spokesperson said. No criminality was suspected.
