MTV Video Music Awards In New York City: Red Carpet, Performers

Some of the music industry's biggest starts will be in New York City for this year's MTV Video Music Awards.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — Several of the music industry's biggest starts are in New York City for Monday night's MTV Video Music Awards show at Radio City Music Hall. The award show's performers include Nicki Minaj, Travis Scott, Post Malone and Ariana Grande and artists such as Drake, Bruno Mars, Childish Gambino and Cardi B are nominated for awards.

The show is scheduled to kick off with a red carpet in front of Radio City Music Hall on Sixth Avenue between West 50th and 51st streets around 8 p.m. Seats at the iconic venue have been removed to create a unique oversize stage for the show, which is scheduled to begin by 9 p.m. This year will be the twelfth time the venue hosts the awards show.

Plenty of New Yorkers will head to Radio City Musical Hall for a chance to catch a glimpse of their favorite stars. For those attending the show, and those watching at home, here's everything you need to know:

Red carpet:

Fans will have the best chance to see their favorite starts either at the red carpet or directly before. Celebrities will begin walking into Radio City Music hall around 7:30 p.m. The arrivals will be live-streamed on Twitter.

The Video Music Awards' red carpet isn't just an arrivals show, but is also a show in and of itself. This year's carpet will feature performances from artist such as the Backstreet Boys Bazzi and Bryce Vine. The official pre-show broadcast will be hosted by Terrence J, Nessa with "Jersey Shore" stars Pauly D and Vinny Guadagnino.

Performers:

This year's Video Music Awards broadcast features a number of high-profile performances from artist in many musical genres. Some standouts from this year's lineup include: Cardi B with an show-opening performance, Nicki Minaj, Ariana Grande, Shawn Mendes, Logic, Travis Scott, Panic! At The Disco and Aerosmith.

How to watch:

The Video Music Awards show officially begins at 9 p.m. eastern time. Cable subscribers who get MTV will be able to watch on TV and on MTV's website using a valid cable login.

Nominees:

Some of this year's most notable nominees include Ariana Grande, Bruno Mars,Camila Cabello, Cardi B, Drake and Post Malone, who are all up for the artist of the year award.
