HELL'S KITCHEN, NY — A hearty cheesesteak eatery and a Spanish tapas spot are among the newest restaurants coming to Hell's Kitchen in the coming months.

The six upcoming eateries will be presented Tuesday to a Community Board 4 committee as their owners sought the board's approval to obtain alcohol licenses. They are among the dozens of new restaurants that Patch has covered in recent months as the city recovers from the depths of the pandemic.

Here are the new businesses we learned about this week:

Friedman's (483 10th Ave., between West 36th and 37th streets):

  • This will be another outpost of Friedman's, the American comfort food restaurant with locations around the city, including just a block south at 450 10th Ave. (the status of that restaurant was unclear).
  • Items on the Italian-focused menu include caesar salad, lasagna, spaghetti and grilled Atlantic salmon.
  • Listed under the LLC "Mercado by Friedman's," the restaurant will be open daily from 10 a.m. to midnight, seating 110 people.

Olde City Cheesesteaks & Brew (576 Ninth Ave., between West 41st and 42nd streets):

  • As the name suggests, Olde city will serve sandwiches — with fresh-baked rolls from Le Bus Bakery — filled with items like steak, with broccoli rabe and provolone, roast pork and buffalo chicken. Shareable items will include mozzarella triangles, garlic-battered cheddar curds and buffalo cauliflower bites, while a "sweet tooth" section of the menu includes six flavors of milkshakes and a "fresh baked cookie."
  • The Ninth Avenue storefront was previously home to Shorty's Restaurant. Its owner is Justine Jaskier, previously a general manager and director of operations at Shorty's.
  • Olde City will be open Sunday-Thursday, from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m., and as late as 3 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

Rincon 50 (739 Ninth Ave., between West 49th and 50th streets):

  • This Spanish restaurant will open up in the Ninth Avenue storefront previously home to Uncle Mario's Brick Oven Pizza.
  • Menu items will include tapas — with separate seafood, meat and vegetarian categories — plus main dishes like churrasco, sautéed shrimp, seafood stew, chicken breast, a vegetarian quinoa, and of course, paella.
  • Owners Angel Argudo, Antonio Morales and Manuel Cabrera are the same people behind the Mexican restaurant Rancho Tequileria, with locations in Hell's Kitchen and the Upper West Side.

Three new restaurants (451 10th Ave., between West 35th and 36th streets):

  • Three new restaurants and bars will open on different floors of 451 10th Ave., a new 45-story building by Related companies that will include a senior living center and apartments.
  • One not-yet-named restaurant will be an "American farm-to-table casual restaurant and bakery" on the ground floor of the new building, according to documents submitted to the community board. It will seat 152 people indoors plus 30 people outdoors, with features including a cellar bar and lounge. It will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 2 a.m.
  • A second restaurant will open on the building's 13th floor, serving "modern American cuisine by a Michelin-starred chef," according to representative Jules Vigh. This 150-seat restaurant will include exterior terraces, and will be open daily from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Finally, the building's 43rd floor will house "The Set Club," a private members club for building residents featuring a screening room, co-working spaces, a restaurant, a lounge, a golf simulator and a rooftop deck with a swimming pool.
