MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — This year's New York International Automobile Show is expected to draw one million people and rake in $300 million for area businesses as crowds flock to the Jacob K Javits center to check out more than 1,000 of the newest car and truck models.

The New York International Auto Show opens to the public on Friday, April 19 and will remain in the Javits Center until Sunday, April 28, according to event organizers. The show will feature cars and trucks on display from the world's most well-known and prestigious auto makers.

The official opening date of the New York International Auto Show is Friday, but the Javits Center has been set up for the event since Wednesday for special press and dealer previews. The event will runs until Sunday, April 28, so there's plenty of time to go check it out.

All New York International Auto Show events will be held in the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center on 11th Avenue between West 34th and 39th streets. The Javits Center will be open from 10 a.m.-10 p.m. on Monday through Saturday and from 10 a.m.- 7 p.m. on Sunday.

How to get there:

The irony of holding one of the largest car shows in the United States in a city where the vast majority of people don't drive on a regular basis isn't lost on us here at Patch. That's why we recommend taking public transit.

Driving through Midtown Manhattan to get to New York International Auto Show will be a rough experience, and parking near the convention center should be scarce. If you can tolerate sitting in traffic, taxis or ride-hailing services are a good, but pricey, option.

Getting to the Javits Center using public transportation can be a bit tricky, but it's by far the easiest and most cost-effective method.

The closest subway stop to the Javits Center is the 34th Street-Hudson Yards 7 train stop. If you're not staying near a 7 train station you can take a 4, 5 or 6 train to Grand Central, a B, D, F or M train to Bryant Park or an A, C, E, N, Q, R, W, 1, 2 or 3 train to Times Square and switch to the 7 at one of those stations.

Tickets:

General admission to the New York International Auto Show cost $17 for adults and $7 for children younger than 12. If you're in a group of 20 adults or 10 children, there's a $2 discount per ticket. Tickets can be purchased at the auto show's website or in-person at the Javits Center.

Events:

The New York International Auto Show is the oldest and most-attended auto show in the United States. A lot of that success has to do with the great events put on by show organizers and auto makers each year. Events include the unveiling of brand-new car designs and showcases featuring both futuristic concept cars and historic models.
