Trump Greeted By Protesters As He Attends NYC Fundraisers
Protesters turned out to oppose President Trump at the first of his three events in New York City Saturday.

NEW YORK, NY — President Trump on Saturday attended three fundraisers in New York City, the same day that the Republican-controlled Senate passed a sweeping tax rewrite in the wee hours of the morning that will mostly benefit corporations and the wealthy.
Trump's first stop was Cipriani's at East 42nd Street where he was greeted by scores of protesters opposed to the president and the tax legislation being rushed through Congress. Demonstrators outside of the venue led chants of "lock him up" and "New York hates you."
According to a White House pool report, a few hundred protesters were awaiting Trump's motorcade at Cipriani's. Among the signs documented by the pool report "tax cuts destroy energy" and "a package of bologna would make a better president." As Trump departed the venue shortly after noon, a mix of onlookers and protesters awaited the president.

Demonstrators later protested in front of the New York Stock Exchange where they were joined by Mayor Bill de Blasio.
The president then attended two subsequent fundraisers, one at The Pierre Hotel on 61st Street followed by an event at a private residence on 71st Street. Jennifer Jacobs, a White House reporter for Bloomberg, reported that the third event was at the home of Steve Schwarzman, the chairman and CEO of the private equity firm The Blackstone Group.
