Racist Harasses, Spits On Woman Riding Subway In Manhattan: NYPD

The NYPD is trying to identify a man who yelled anti-black slurs at a woman and spit on her face on the Times Square subway station.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — The NYPD is trying to identify a man wanted in connection with a racist attack on a woman riding the subway in Manhattan, police said.

A 33-year-old woman was riding a southbound 1 train through Manhattan on the night of Friday, Nov. 30 when she was harassed by another man on the train, police said. The man yelled racist slurs at the woman, and when the train came to a stop at the Times Square station he spit in her face, police said.

The man exited the train at Times Square after making more anti-black statements and fled the station in an unknown direction, police said. Police released a sketch of the suspect, who is described as a bearded man in his early 30s standing about 5-foot-8 and weighing around 180 pounds, police said. The man was last seen wearing a black knit cap, a black top and black sweatpants.
