Smorgasburg To Debut Hudson Yards Pop Up Market

HUDSON YARDS, NY — The expansion of popular outdoor food market Smorgasburg into Manhattan will continue next week when the company opens a pop up at Hudson Yards.

Smorgasburg vendors sch as Bona Bona Ice Cream, Mao's Bao and the Red Hook Lobster Pound will set up in Hudson Yards every Tuesday and Wednesday starting May 14, the food market announced. Vendors will set up in Bella Azbug Park on West 34th Street between 11th Avenue and Hudson Boulevard East.

The Hudson Yards Smorgasburg will be the food market's second venture into Manhattan this year. In April, Smorgasburg opened its first Manhattan location next to the Oculus at the World Trade Center. The company's main markets are based in Prospect Park and Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

The Hudson Yards location is considered a pop up due to its limited number of vendors and its abbreviated season. The market only features six vendors at a time on a rotating schedule, a spokesperson for the market told Patch. Smorgasburg will also close its Hudson Yards market a few months earlier than its full-size markets, which generally stay open through November.
