Suspect Robs Bank Next to New York Public Library
A man robbed a bank on Tuesday morning just steps from the city's main New York Public Library.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — A man ripped off a Valley National Bank just steps from the New York Public Library's Main Branch as people made their way to work on Tuesday morning.
According to police, the suspect walked into the bank at 1040 Avenue of the Americas at 7:5o a.m. and passed a note to the teller demanding money. The teller gave the man an undetermined amount of money and he fled the bank, police said.
Police describe the suspect as being about 50 years old, black, 5-foot-10, 200 pounds, and wearing a blue jacket, black hat and red bandana.
