Watch: Times Square Broadcasts NASA InSight Landing On Mars

NEW YORK, NY — NASA's space probe InSight is set to complete a 301,223,981 mile journey from the Earth to Mars on Monday, Nov. 26 — and the dramatic moment when the space probe lands on the red planet will be live streamed online and in the middle of Times Square.

The probe is expected to enter Mars' atmosphere and touch down on the planet around 3 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. A video feed from inside the NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California will go live around 2 p.m., according to agency.

InSight — am abbreviation of Interior Exploration using Seismic Investigations, Geodesy and Heat Transport — will be NASA's first probe that will study the inside of Mars.

"We've studied Mars from orbit and from the surface since 1965, learning about its weather, atmosphere, geology and surface chemistry," Lori Glaze, acting director of the Planetary Science Division in NASA's Science Mission Directorate," said in a statement. "Now we finally will explore inside Mars and deepen our understanding of our terrestrial neighbor as NASA prepares to send human explorers deeper into the solar system."

If you live or work in New York City, don't miss the opportunity to see the live feed broadcast in the middle of Times Square. The feed will be played on the massive screen which takes up seven-stories of the Nasdaq tower's facade on Broadway and West 43rd Street, CNET firs reported.
