Woman Seriously Injured By Cyclist In Midtown, Police Say
The 68-year-old woman was struck near 57th Street and Fifth Avenue after the cyclist ran a red light.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — A woman was seriously injured after being hit Wednesday by a bicyclist running a red light in Midtown Manhattan, an NYPD spokesman said.
The 68-year-old woman was walking near East 57th Street and Fifth Avenue around 4 p.m. when she was struck by a person riding a bike, police said. EMS rushed her to NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center in serious condition.
The woman's husband told the New York Daily News that his wife suffered a skull fracture and was in a coma.

An NYPD spokesman said the collision is under investigation. The cyclist was given a summons for running a red light, police said.
