Woman Strangled In Hell's Kitchen Bar, Police Say

HELL'S KITCHEN, NY — The NYPD is trying to identify a man who strangled a woman in the bathroom of a Hell's Kitchen bar, police said.

The suspect followed a 27-year-old woman into a bathroom of the Blue Ruin Bar — located on Ninth Avenue and West 40th street — on the night the night of Aug. 26, police said. Once inside the bathroom, the man strangled the woman until she went unconscious, police said.

The woman woke up from the attack and sought out medical treatment at a later date, police said.

The suspect is described as a man standing 5-foot-8 or 5-foot-9 with hazel or green eyes and long black dreadlocks, police said. The NYPD released photos of the man this week.
