Students in Rocky Point High School’s cosmetology program are open for business. The students recently welcomed customers from the community for some color touch-ups and hairstyling under the direction and leadership of teachers Jean Stiastny and Rosalie Retus.

The class, in its 19th year at the school, allows students to hone their technical skills while building self-confidence and pride in their work.
“There are so many options,” senior Melissa Barrett said of career possibilities. “From skincare, makeup to hairstyling, there are a lot of opportunities for us after high school.”
