Rocky Point Students Learn About Creativity At Stony Brook University
Students attended a lecture geared toward high schoolers with an interest in math and science.

Members of Rocky Point High School’s Math Honor Society and Science Honor Society attended a lecture at Stony Brook University geared toward high school students with an interest in math and science. Dr. Álvaro de Rújula, one of the world’s leading theoretical physicists from CERN, the European Center for Nuclear Research, presented “Creativity in the Arts and Sciences,” a motivational talk about science and the future. After the talk the students had a Q&A with the scientists who work for Stony Brook.

“It was a great experience and exposed our students to some higher-level physics,” math teacher Janece Alfredson said.
