Stacks of canned vegetables, bottles of juices, corn and cake muffin mixes, cranberry sauce and more lined a wall in the classroom of Deborah Vieira and Lisa Celentano at Joseph A. Edgar Intermediate School. The children were busy sorting the items for Blessing Boxes to be distributed to Long Island Lend a Helping Hand Food Pantry.

The students were excited to share in helping others during the Thanksgiving holiday with a bountiful meal and additional items for the Rocky Point organization’s food pantry. “We are grateful to our many families for helping in this project,” Vieira said. “Especially knowing they are helping people right here in our community.”
