Lottery Open For Yonkers Affordable Apartments At New Ridgeway
The rents will range from $1,456 for a studio apartment to $2,200 for a two-bedroom for those who meet household income requirements.

YONKERS, NY — A new chance for renters to combat the ongoing affordable housing crisis is here.
The Municipal Housing Authority for the City of Yonkers (MHACY) and The Community Builders announced that there are lottery chances for affordable rentals at 178 Warburton at the Ridgeway in Yonkers now open and applications are being accepted from those who qualify.
The new, eight-story residential building has a mix of 6 studio units, 35 one-bedrooms and 40 two-bedrooms. The units include dishwashers, microwaves and air conditioning. The building also has a common laundry room, an on-site property management office, 24-hour emergency maintenance, a rooftop resident center with a resident meeting/lounge space, an outdooor roof terrace overlooking a new park and a fitness room. Free parking will be available. Water, sewer and trash are included in the rent. The building is close to shopping, dining, services and transportation, and only 25 minutes from NYC, according to the leasing agents.

Monthly rental prices for the affordable units available, based on Area Median Income (AMI) are:
- Studio: $1,456 (60 percent AMI), $1,650 (90 percent AMI)
- One-bedroom: $1,300 (50 percent AMI), $1,560 (60 percent AMI), $1,850 (80-90 percent AMI)
- Two-bedroom: 30 percent of homeless household income, $1,560 (50 percent AMI), $1,872 (60 percent AMI), $2,200 (80-90 percent AMI)
The rentals are available to those with 30-90 percent of the area average monthly household income.

Rents, availability and maximum household incomes will be subject to change. 20 units will be set aside for formerly homeless households and referred to the community through the Westchester County Continuum of Care Partnership for the Homeless (CoC Partnership) and other organizations serving the homeless.
The deadline for applications is September 13, 2022. Mailed applications must be postmarked by this date. The lottery will be held electronically on September 28, 2022, at 10 a.m.
