Lottery Opens For New Affordable Apartments In Westchester

The rents will range from $1,029 for a one-bedroom apartment to $2,160 for a three-bedroom for those who meet household income requirements.

YONKERS, NY — A new chance for renters to combat the ongoing affordable housing crisis is here for a lucky few.

Westchester Residential Opportunities announced that there are lottery chances for 59 affordable rentals at Hudson Hill (76 Locust Hill) in Yonkers now open and applications are being accepted from those who qualify.

The newly constructed building includes amenities such as courtyard gardens, onsite covered parking, EV charging stations, rooftop solar PV, two community rooms, laundry and a bike storage room. Heat and hot water are included. Tenants will be responsible for electric and AC.

The rentals are available to those with 40-60 percent of the area average monthly household income.

Monthly rental prices for the affordable units available, based on Area Median Income (AMI) are:

  • Studio: $1,481 (60 percent AMI)
  • One-bedroom: $1,029 (40 percent AMI), $1,580 (60 percent AMI)
  • Two-bedroom: $1,222 (40 percent AMI), $1,883 (60 percent AMI)
  • Three-bedroom: $2,160 (60 percent AMI)

Priority admissions included 6 mobility disability units and 3 sensory disability units.

The deadline for applications is September 26, 2023. The lottery will be held via Zoom on October 11, 2023, at 11 a.m.
