Police: 24-Year-Old Punched Girl, Stabbed Brother-In-Law At Party
Officers were already at the scene because of an earlier altercation, Ramapo police said.
HILLCREST, NY — Ramapo police called to a disturbance Sunday found that residents of a home on Bonnie Court in Hillcrest were on the second day of a large birthday party.
A fight had taken place and a 24-year-old former resident had been thrown out of the party.
Police said that while officers were there with multiple intoxicated parties, the 24-year-old kicked in the front door, pulled a knife, held it to another man's neck, and threatened to stab him. A third person attempted to gain control of the knife and was then stabbed in the upper chest.

An officer witnessed the stabbing, deployed his taser, gained control of the 24-year-old, and placed him under arrest.
The defendant and victim are brothers-in-law, police said.

The victim suffered a non-life-threatening stab wound and was transported to Nyack Hospital.
Police later determined that during the initial altercation, the 24-year-old punched a 12-year-old girl in the face, causing physical injuries.
Rockland County Sheriff’s Patrol and New York State Police responded and assisted at the scene. Ramapo Detectives responded and continued the investigation. Rockland County Sheriffs/ BCI Unit responded and processed the scene. The Village of New Hempstead Building and Zoning Inspectors were also notified due to suspected illegal multi-dwelling occupancy at the location.
The 24-year-old faces charges of Assault 1st, Assault 2nd, Burglary 1st, CPW, Criminal Mischief,
Menacing, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
