Dear Editor;
In the next few months there will be significant change coming to our hamlet. Certainly the big news is the opening of the 'Shops at Nanuet', but there are also efforts to improve the immediate downtown area. Recently the Town of Clarkstown has held a series of meetings with concerned citizens about what changes they would like to see in the area.
Both the Nanuet Chamber of Commerce and the Nanuet Civic Association have been active in working with the town to develop future plans. New zoning laws are going to be introduced that will allow better development of empty lots and more efficient use of existing buildings to revitalize our community. Tuesday the Nanuet Chamber of Commerce is holding elections to expand its Board from ten to fifteen.
This is a great opportunity for concerned members of the public and business owners to take an active part and have their voice heard and help mold our community, by either running or support a candidate(s) by attending the meeting. It is not necessary to business owner to be involved in the chamber, many of our members are concerned citizens looking to the future, so no matter what your dream is for Nanuet please join us Tuesday at the Nanuet Restaurant at 7pm.
And consider becoming a board member to help us help you to make Nanuet a prosperous and vibrant community. For additional information please visit the Chamber Website. http://nanuetchamber.com/
Sincerely,
Nicholas Miller
