Winter Storm Watch Issued In The Hudson Valley By National Weather Service

Up to 8 inches of snow accumulation is forecast in the watch that includes Westchester, Putnam, Rockland, and Orange counties.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for much of the Hudson Valley, including Westchester, Putnam, Rockland, and Orange counties.

Up to 8 inches of snow accumulation is forecast in the region, according to the NWS.

The Winter Storm Watch is in effect from Friday afternoon through Saturday afternoon. Heavy snow is expected. Total snow accumulations between 4 and 8 inches are possible, according to the NWS.

The heaviest snow is expected in southern Connecticut, northeast New Jersey and southeast New York, including the Hudson Valley, Long Island and New York City.

Whether heading home from holiday celebrations with family, or joining the p.m. commute, drivers can expect slippery road conditions beginning Friday afternoon.
