The company said it has selected Ellie Kim to be the local owner-operator of the Nanuet restaurant.

"After nearly two decades as a local Owner-Operator, I'm incredibly thankful for the opportunity to open Chick-fil-A Nanuet in such a tight-knit, vibrant community that I call home," Kim said. "What excites me most — beyond being back in a community where much of my family still lives — is the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with local schools, first responders, businesses, and, of course, the residents of Nanuet. My goal is to create a welcoming space where the community feels at home."

Kim has longstanding ties to the Nanuet area, having lived just minutes from the restaurant before moving to Washington, D.C. in 2006 to open her first Chick-fil-A. She ran that restaurant until 2018, when she moved back to New York and became the local owner-operator of a Chick-fil-A near Grand Central Station in Manhattan.

The former attorney holds degrees from New York University and the Rutgers School of Law. Born and raised in South Korea, Kim says she was introduced to Chick-fil-A through friends who had become local owner-operators.

Kim said she is committed to giving back to the Nanuet community by participating in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table program, which redirects surplus food to local nonprofits, helping to create over 35 million meals nationwide so far. In addition, Chick-fil-A, Inc. will celebrate the opening with a $25,000 donation to Feeding America to be distributed to partners in the greater New York area to help in the fight against hunger.
