Clarkstown Police Probe Attempted Bank Fraud In Nanuet

Police detained one person for questioning and are searching for a second.

NANUET, NY — Bardonia Elementary School went briefly into lockout on Wednesday as Clarkstown police searched for a woman connected to a bank fraud attempt at Affinity Federal Credit Union.

Officers responded to the bank at 35 Bardonia Road after a call about two suspects trying to commit a fraud at the bank.

Both had left by the time officers arrived. However, one suspect was apprehended at the corner of Rt. 304 and Bardonia Road.

Additional officers began a search for the second suspect, a female wearing a black vest and hat with COLORADO written across the front. As of 3 p.m. Wednesday the female suspect had not been located.

Out of an abundance of caution, Bardonia Elementary went into a brief LOCKOUT while officers were in the area searching for the woman, Clarkstown police said.
