Local repairman Ken Levitt fixes lots of things for homeowners but says a large part of his business comes from “quality of life” repairs. He specializes in making renovations or adjustments so residents can age in place in the comfort of their homes.
“It’s quality of life repairs things that drive people crazy every day,” says the Nanuet resident.
Levitt, who was one of the many vendors at the recent Nanuet Family Festival, shared examples such as switching door knobs to levers for easier opening, installing grab bars in the bathroom, fixing rattling and shaky bannisters, adjusting drawers and doors to close properly and easily.
Levitt, who started his one-man business in 2001, also teaches home repair classes at Rockland BOCES and Tappan Zee High School. Levitt says his handyman business, Dembo One, is licensed and insured.
