Hillcrest Man Arrested In Stabbing Of 21-Year-Old Nanuet Man

The charges against him include assault in the first degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree.

RAMAPO, NY — An arrest has been made in connection to a stabbing earlier this month that left a Nanuet man severely wounded, police report.

On Feb. 17, the Ramapo Police Department was called to a home in the Hillcrest area of the Town of Ramapo on a report of a man having been stabbed. The victim, a 21-year-old man from Nanuet, suffered a severe laceration to his arm after a physical altercation involving a knife, according to police.

The suspect, who is reportedly an acquaintance of the victim, fled the scene on foot.

On Monday, the suspect, a 24-year-old man from Hillcrest, was arrested by the Ramapo Police Department. The charges against him include assault in the first degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree. He was arraigned and is being held in the Rockland County Jail, on $25,000 cash bail, $100,000 bond.

The Ramapo Police Department said they were assisted by the Rockland County Sheriff's Bureau of Criminal Investigation and the Rockland County REACT team.
