You're time-pressed enough, so we're happy to do the research and find the best things to do and places to go, both locally and within reasonable striking distance. Look for the kids' planner each week, and help us build the planner with your own suggestions and tips‚ just add them to the comment box.

CANDLE Night at the Rockland Boulders
Where/When: Thursday, May 23 at 7 P.M/Provident Bank Park in Pomona
Why Go: You are invited to join us for CANDLE Night at the Rockland Boulders Game. There will be giveaways, 50-50, raffles! Individual tickets $15. Ticket/Food Combo (hotdog, soda, chips) $20.

Memorial Day Celebration
When/Where: Friday, May 24 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m./Street Community Center, New City
Why Go: Join senior citizens honoring all U.S. veterans. The ceremony will be held at the Promenade of Heroes. Rev. Robert McKenna of St. Francis Assisi is the guest speaker. Refreshments will be served afterwards. Visit the Hall of Heroes and History Room.

Outdoor Concert: The Big Band Sound
When/Where: Sunday, May 26 at 6 p.m./New City Library
Why Go: This 20-piece orchestra recreates the swinging sounds of the big band era. Bring a chair/blanket. If raining, concert will be indoors.

Memorial Day Services - Nanuet
When/Where: Monday, May 27 at 3 p.m./Nanuet Veterans Monument on Prospect Street
Why Go: The Naurashank Post 794 of the American Legion and the Nanuet Fire Department will observe Memorial Day on Monday, May 27 rain or shine with services beginning at 11 AM at the Nanuet Veterans Monument on Prospect Street across from the Nanuet Post Office. Parking is available in the commuter parking areas. All residents and community organizations are invited to attend. Refreshments will follow at the Nanuet Fire Station. Anyone wishing to place floral arraignments or have a color guard participate in the ceremony please contact John Dulisse at 914-420-9801 or 845-623-6831.
