Nanuet Girl Scouts Awards & Bridging Ceremony

More than 150 Nanuet Girl Scouts and their families will be celebrating on Friday at the Court of Awards and Bridging Ceremony. Every two years, Girl Scouts move up to the next level of scouting. Friday’s event includes girls from elementary school age through high school.

40 first grade Daisy Scouts will bridge to Brownies and 38 third grade Brownies will bridge to Juniors. 35 Junior Girl Scouts will bridge to Cadette level and 27 Cadettes will bridge to Seniors. Additionally 12 Seniors will bridge to Ambassadors and one Ambassador bridging to Adult.

Girl Scout Troop Leader Cathy Mannio, who is organizing the event with fellow Troop Leader Lee Ann Devine, said three Junior troops, who have earned their Bronze Award, and six Ambassadors, who have earned the Gold Award, will receive those awards at the ceremony. The Gold Award is the highest honor a Girl Scout can receive.

The event begins with a 6:15 p.m. slide show of the girls who are bridging and the activities they participated in during the past year. The ceremony will start at 6:30 p.m. in the Nanuet High School with refreshments served afterwards.
