Nanuet School Board Thanks PTA Volunteers

The Nanuet School Board will hold a reception for PTA volunteers at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday night, prior to its regular board meeting. At the meeting, board members will vote on approving contracts for management confidential clerical employees, non-represented administrators and the Family Resource Center for the 2013-2014 school year. They also vote on authorizing a tax anticipation note of $2.5 million. The funds are needed to cover the district’s summer operations costs and the first two teacher payrolls of the 2013-2014 school year. The money would be borrowed on August 1 and the district expects to repay it on October 15, 2013 including an interest payment of $9,761. The district needs to borrow the money because of the timing of state aid payments.
