Nyack Resident Dies In Thruway Crash In Clarkstown: NYSP
He lost control of his motorcycle on the rumble strips, police said.
CLARKSTOWN, NY — A motorcyclist died in a crash on the New York State Thruway in Rockland County Saturday night, state police said.
At 11:23 p.m. Aug. 24, New York State Troopers along with Rockland County EMS responded to a serious motorcycle crash on the New York State Thruway in Clarkstown.
Preliminary investigation concluded that Michael Dipierno of Nyack was northbound on a 2005 Honda motorcycle when he attempted to pass a vehicle on the median shoulder and lost control on the rumble strips. He struck the guide rail and was ejected from the motorcycle, police said.

After being ejected, the 22-year-old was struck by another vehicle, police said. Dipierno was pronounced dead at the scene.
