Alternate-Side Parking Suspended Ahead Of Wednesday Snow

Parking meter rules will still be in effect.

NEW YORK, NY — Don't worry about moving your car tonight. The city Department of Transportation suspended alternate-side parking rules for Wednesday ahead of an expected early-morning snowfall.

Most of the five boroughs will see two to three inches of snow between midnight and noon on Wednesday, the National Weather Service predicts, making for a slippery Wednesday morning commute. Some parts of the Bronx could see up to four inches, while the suburban Hudson Valley coculd get six.

The DOT lifts the rules to help crews plow streets more easily when it snows. But it won't get you out of feeding the meter — parking meter regulations will remain in effect.
