Anthony Bourdain: CNN Programming Honors Chef Saturday, Sunday

CNN is airing programming honoring Anthony Bourdain on Saturday and Sunday.

CNN is airing a host of programming to honor Anthony Bourdain, the celebrity chef and gifted storyteller who died by suicide on Friday. Bourdain, 61, was found in his hotel room in France by his friend and fellow celebrity chef Eric Ripert.

CNN had been Bourdain's home for the past five years where he hosted the show, "Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown." His fellow colleagues at the network paid tribute to Bourdain, a man who was revered by all.

"Many of you who watched him feel you too have lost a friend, a travel companion who was always up for an adventure," said Anderson Cooper on AC 360.

"He loved and was loved in return," Cooper said. "Many of you like many of us are feeling a whole range of emotions; shock, sadness, confusion that a man who was seemingly having the ride of his life in the middle of his life has now suddenly reached the end of his life."

In his daily newsletter, CNN senior media correspondent Brian Stelter wrote that in his four and a half years at the network, Friday was the most painful day he could recall.
