This Bar Has NYC's 'Sexiest' Cocktail

NEW YORK, NY — Cucumbers might not be the sexiest food to look at, but they happen to be the garnish for New York City's sexiest cocktail. The "Cucumber" at The Pool Lounge in Midtown East claimed the "Sexiest Cocktail" title in the 2018 Time Out Bar Awards.

Cucumber is among the fourteen cocktails on The Pool Lounge's menu named for the fruits and flavors they evoke. This one is made with cucumber-infused absinthe, lime juice, cane sugar syrup and muddled cucumber wheels. It's served over crushed ice in a couple glass "lined with overlapping layers of sliced baby cucumbers, which will soon bring to life the impish green fairy," Time Out writes.

The concoction claimed one of Time Out's dozen bar awards. The top honor for Bar of the Year went to Dante in Greenwich Village. Dante also won Best Cocktail for the Garibaldi, a simple drink of oxygen-infused orange juice and Campari.

"This celebrity hot spot and reboot of a 100-year-old Village landmark packs ’em in for a simple, worthy reason: the drinks," Time Out wrote of Dante.

Downtown bars dominated the competition — six establishments in Greenwich Village and the East Village took seven awards.
