Bastille Day In NYC: Concerts, Festivals, Prix Fixe Menus
A celebration at SummerStage, dining out and a pétanque tournament are among the ways New Yorkers can mark France's independence day.

NEW YORK CITY — Central Park's first Bastille Day celebration is among several events that will bring French flair to New York City on Wednesday and into the weekend.
French restaurants will offer prix fixe menus, while clubs and cultural centers will host parties and events – all to commemorate the storming of the Bastille on July 14, 1789, which led to the birth of the modern French nation.

'La Brooklynaise' Open Péntaque Tournament
Brooklyn's Carreau Club will host its first annual "La Brooklynaise" open pétanque tournament and fête at the Industry City courtyard on Sunday.
Pétanque is a sport similar to bowling or bocce, in which competitors try to throw a ball – known as a "boule" – closest to a smaller target ball. The tournament will begin at noon and participants can register online.
The celebration is open to both pétanque competitors and tournament spectators. D’Artagnan will supply charcuterie boxes for the tournament winners, M.Wells will serve a menu consisting of an Oyster Cart, Soca Bar, Jambon Beurre (ham sandwich) and more, and Ricard will be pouring pastis cocktails at the Pastis Patio. DJs will play a collection of French music all afternoon.
Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in both brackets, and each participating team will receive a gift bag with swag from Carreau Club, Industry City, and Ricard.
Bastille Day at Marseille
Marseille, a Hell's Kitchen brasserie, will offer a three-course prix fixe menu pulled from traditional French cuisine on Wednesday.
The menu starts with a vichyssoise (cold potato and leek soup), followed by cochon frites (pork and fries) and chooclate crepes for dessert.
The restaurant will also offer a selection of French cheeses by fromager Rodolphe Le Meunier, a beloved cheesemonger whose products are rare to find in New York.
Bastille Day at Nice Matin
Diners at the Upper West Side's Nice Matin on Wednesday will enjoy a holiday-centric cochon frites special featuring whole roast suckling pig, potato mille-feuille and charcutière sauce for $28.
Coucou
The French cultural center and language hub, located in Little Italy, will celebrate Bastille Day by hosting a reopening party on Saturday from 3 to 7 p.m.
The party will include music by French trio Oh la la, French cider by Aval, wine by Communal Brands, French-inspired cocktails and French treats from Maman and Michael et Augustin. At the event, Coucou will unveil the new "Little Paris" streets signs on its block.
