Best Companies To Work For List Includes 9 In New York

NEW YORK, NY – Of the 100 best companies to work for in the USA, nine are based in New York according to to a new survey.

The list, complied by Fortune Magazine, takes into account factors including compensation, paid time off, diversity and perks offered to workers and looks at companies that have at least 1,000 employees.

Of the nine, seven are in New York City.

The best place to work in the state – and the second best nationally – is the Rochester-headquartered grocery store Wegmans.

Other workplaces that made the cut include the financial firms Goldman Sachs and American Express and the consulting firm Deloitte.

The list measured companies in the U.S. on characteristics like innovation and people-focused programs. Fortune scores each company on an analysis of anonymous employee responses to a survey along with an evaluation of company programs and practices. You can read more about Fortune’s methodology here.

Fortune said it received feedback from more than 315,000 employees to determine the winners.
