Crazed Straphanger Dies After Being Put In Chokehold: Cops, Reports
A 30-year-old man who was threatening passengers died after a fight inside Broadway-Lafayette station, according to police and reports.

NEW YORK CITY — A crazed man who was threatening straphangers died inside Broadway-Lafayette station after another passenger put him in a chokehold, according to police and reports.
The man, 30, appeared disturbed and yelled at passengers Monday as he rode an F train about 2:30 p.m., the New York Daily News first reported.
Amid the threats to straphangers, he sparked an argument with a 24-year-man on the train, police said. The two men fought until the erratic passenger lost consciousness, NYPD officials said.

The Daily News reported that the 24-year-old had put the disturbed man in a chokehold.
Police arrived to find the 30-year-old unconscious and unresponsive, authorities said. Medics took the man to Lenox Hill Hospital, where doctors pronounced him deceased, police said.

The younger man was questioned by police, but not arrested as the investigation continues, authorities said.
