A couple walking through the East Village last week was robbed by a group of 12 youths who flashed a weapon, police said.

NEW YORK CITY — A dozen delinquents mugged a couple as they walked on an East Village street, police said.
The as-yet-unidentified youths robbed a 22-year-old woman and 23-year-old man of their phones, a purse, wallet and debit cards early Sept. 17, authorities said.
The couple ran into the group — which consisted of eight males and four females — about 3:45 a.m. near East 12th Street and Avenue C, NYPD officials said.
