Driver Injures 3 Pedestrians In NYC After Evading Traffic Stop

NEW YORK CITY — The NYPD has arrested a driver who struck three pedestrians in Queens while fleeing from officers over the weekend.
The driver of a BMW — Fabrice Bayonne, 32, of Long Island — was arrested near the scene, police said.
The collision happened near 80th Street by Northern Boulevard in Jackson Heights just before 2 a.m. Sunday, police said.

Surveillance videos from nearby businesses show the moments the BMW barrels through the intersection as a group of pedestrians attempts to cross the intersection.
The three victims suffered minor injuries are expected to recover, police said.

Bayonne had been fleeing police over fake license plates on his vehicle. Following the incident, he briefly attempted to flee on foot but was ultimately caught.
A passenger in the vehicle was also taken into custody.
