Monkeypox Cases On The Rise in NYC
Monkeypox is officially an emergency across New York, the state's top doctor said. In New York City, the virus has exploded from a single case in May to 1,251 as of Thursday, according to city health data. "With more than one-quarter of all cases in the U.S., New Yorkers, and especially our LGBTQ+ community, remain among the hardest-hit," Gov. Kathy Hochul said in a statement. "We will continue to advocate to the federal government for our fair share of vaccines based on the disease burden impacting New York." (New York City Patch)

MTA Trains Face Fiscal Wreck
A new forecast of the MTA's preliminary budget projects the transportation agency will face "a fiscal cliff" by 2025, a year earlier than estimates that were released in February due to decreased ridership. (New York City Patch)
