Ex-NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani Disbarred For 2020 Election Lies: Report
The disbarment will take effect immediately, and his name will be stricken from the roll of New York attorneys and counselors-at-law.
NEW YORK CITY — Former New York City mayor, Rudy Giuliani, has been disbarred in New York for making false statements as Donald Trump's legal advisor following the 2020 election.
The disbarment was handed down after multiple lies told by Giuliani after the 2020 election, in which he claimed that votes were cast in the names of dead people and that ballots had been smuggled into Pennsylvania from New York, among others, according to multiple media reports.
The decision was made by a New York appeals court in Manhattan Tuesday.

Giuliani told the Attorney Grievance Committee last year that "he lacked knowledge that statements he had made were false."
Four of the charges levied towards the former mayor stemmed from him making false statements under oath, according to Gothamist.
A court-appointed referee, said Giuliani, took advantage of his position and told "numerous lies in numerous forums, all designed to create distrust of the elective system of our country in the minds of its citizens."
“This behavior has done immeasurable damage to our democracy," the referee added.
