Expect Another Breezy NYC Day After Winds Hit 50MPH During Nor'easter

NEW YORK CITY — Another breezy day awaits New Yorkers who just dealt with 50 mph winds during a nor'easter, forecasters say.
New York City avoided the full wrath of a winter storm this week that dumped snow — as much as 30 inches of it — over the Northeast, but city dwellers can expect some lingering effects Wednesday.
"Breezy, with a northwest wind 20 to 24 mph, with gusts as high as 38 mph," the National Weather Service's forecast for Wednesday states.

Rain, snow and heavy wind hit New York City as the storm hit Monday and Tuesday, prompting a ground stop at LaGuardia Airport.
Wind gusts hit 46 mph at LaGuardia and JFK airports Tuesday, and even higher — 50 mph — in Midtown, according to the National Weather Service.

Gusty conditions Wednesday morning had similarly caused flight delays that averaged more than an hour, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.
The windy weather will continue Wednesday before easing up later this week, forecasters predict. Rain will return to the forecast for the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.
