Fandango Founder Dies After Falling From NYC Hotel: Report

J. Michael Cline fell from the 20th floor of the Kimberly Hotel in Midtown and landed in a third-floor courtyard Tuesday

NEW YORK CITY — A 64-year-old man who fell to his death from a hotel in Manhattan Tuesday morning has been identified as the co-founder of movie ticket company Fandango, according to reports.

At around 10:20 a.m., J. Michael Cline fell from the 20th floor of the Kimberly Hotel in Midtown and landed in a third-floor courtyard Tuesday, the New York Post reported.

Officers who responded to the scene found Cline unresponsive with injuries indicative of a fall from an elevated position, police said.

EMS pronounced the 64-year-old man dead at the scene.

Multiple media reports have said he died by suicide, but his cause of death has not been released.

Cline was currently serving as executive chairman of investment firm Juxtapose and was a chairman of the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
