Hip Hop And Reggae Music Meet In New York At Central Park's Playfield
The free event at Ramsey Playfield is Saturday at 7 p.m. Doors open for the first come first serve concert at 6 p.m.
NEW YORK CITY — Legends of the 1990s hip hop and reggae music scene meet up at the SummerStage at Central Park’s Rumsey Playfield Saturday night from 7 to 10 p.m., according to the City Parks Foundation.
Tickets are not required for the first come first serve free concert and members who have a City Parks Foundation Day Pass can skip the line, added the foundation.
Ralph McDaniels, a deejay, is set to host the musical event that will feature Slick Rick, Wayne Wonder, Shinehead, Red Fox, Lady G. and fellow deejays Jazzy Joyce and Peter Panic, according to VP Records, the iconic Jamaica music store, which set up shop in Queens in 1977 and now has locations in Tokyo, Miami, Kingston, Johannesburg and Rio de Janeiro.
